When you see the RSPCA Certified logo on an Ingham’s product you can be sure it has come from a farm that has been regularly assessed by RSPCA Assessors to check conformance with the RSPCA Australia Standard for Meat Chickens. In 2021 alone, 345 assessments were conducted at Ingham’s farms by specially trained RSPCA Assessors across the country.
The Standard has over 350 unique requirements covering the whole life (and death) of the chickens, with a focus on providing for their physical and mental needs. All Ingham’s indoor and outdoor facilities have achieved certification against the Standard’s requirements.
Consumers can be confident chicken was raised to higher standard for a better quality of life. Meat chickens on Ingham’s farms are reared with a focus on welfare throughout their life, well beyond what’s legally required.
Ready to shape the future of higher-welfare farming?
Layer hens raised by producers with RSPCA Certification have nests, perches, litter to dust bathe and enough space to move. The Standard allows for indoor and outdoor housing that provide the hen with opportunities to perform natural behaviours.

Animal welfare is seen by customers as an important part of a brand’s social responsibility. RSPCA Certified is recognised by Australians as meaning animals have been farmed with consideration of their welfare.
A strict chain of custody program means that all RSPCA Certified ingredients can be traced from point of sale right back to the farm and refers to handling of all RSPCA Certified products.
