We’re Australia’s leading independent farm animal welfare certification, established as part of the RSPCA’s efforts to improve the lives of farmed animals.
RSPCA Certified (formerly known as the RSPCA Approved Farming Scheme) was created to improve farm animal welfare in Australia whilst also providing guidance and a trustworthy choice for consumers who want to purchase higher-welfare products. The RSPCA is committed to improving the welfare of the millions of animals who are farmed across Australia.
The most meaningful way that we can achieve this is by encouraging continuous improvement for farm animal welfare at a government, industry, producer and corporate level. RSPCA Certified is just one of the ways that the RSPCA is working towards this goal.
It indicates better welfare, and you can find RSPCA Certified products in supermarkets, and many of your favourite eating spots.

If you’re a producer looking to farm to a higher-welfare standard and achieve certification, or a business interested in sourcing higher-welfare products and communicating this to your customers, we’d like to hear from you.
Producers
When your farms, transporters and abattoirs are assessed and certified to RSPCA Australia’s Standards, this shows that animal welfare is a priority for your business. Find out how to achieve certification and the benefits of being RSPCA Certified.
Australians consider animal welfare an important part of a brand’s social responsibility. Use of the RSPCA Certified logo helps consumers recognise products from animals that have been farmed to a higher-welfare standard with consideration of their welfare as a priority.
A strict Chain of Custody program means that all RSPCA Certified products can be traced from point of sale right back to the farm. All businesses that source or handle RSPCA Certified products in the supply chain of a Licensee are assessed against the RSPCA’s Chain of Custody Standard to verify conformance.
