Licensing Process
To make sure consumers can trust that an RSPCA Certified product comes from a RSPCA Certified Producer, brands, retailers and restaurants must undergo the following Licensing Process.
Step 1
Companies looking to become a Licensee must contact RSPCA Certified to register their interest in the program.
Step 2
Involves preliminary discussions and evaluation of the company and its proposed use of the RSPCA Certified brand.
Step 3
Involves acceptance of terms of the application process and payment of fees which cover the Chain of Custody assessment.
Step 4
The company is then assessed by the Certification Body and must demonstrate its conformance with the requirements of the RSPCA Certified Chain of Custody Standard. At all times, RSPCA Certified products are required to be clearly identifiable and are never substituted with non-RSPCA Certified products.
Step 5
Once the supply chain has been assessed, the Certification Body evaluates the application and, upon authorisation by RSPCA Australia, can make the decision to enter into a Trade Mark Licensing Agreement with the Applicant.
Step 6
Once a Licensing Agreement is in place, Licensees have access to the RSPCA Certified brand for the purposes of product packaging and marketing. Use of the RSPCA Certified logo or name in text must comply with the RSPCA’s brand guidelines and be approved by RSPCA Certified.
