In 1986, Oporto founder Antonio Cerqueira began serving Portuguese-style flame-grilled chicken in his chicken shop near Bondi Beach.
Nearly 40 years later the brand has grown to span over 220 stores in locations across Australia. Priding themselves on their flame-grilled and fresh Portuguese style chicken, it is no surprise their menu has gained nationwide popularity.
With an aim to deliver a craveable, feel-good food experience with every interaction, Oporto also strives to extend this to their sourcing policies, including supporting better farm animal welfare. They source 100% RSPCA Certified chicken and have done so since 2019. They are also proud users of cage-free whole eggs to support better hen welfare.
Having independent external certification means Oporto can trust that our chickens are sourced from farms prioritising animal welfare.
To Oporto, RSPCA Certified means that chickens are farmed with a focus on good welfare.
