Since opening their doors in 2004, Grill’d has focused on providing their customers with healthy burgers, fast.
The foundation of this is sourcing from local farmers who have a focus on welfare, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to sourcing higher-welfare products since opening its first restaurant in 2004.

Paving the Way to Better Welfare
Grill’d has been working closely with the RSPCA since 2016, integrating higher-welfare practices across its supply chain. Sourcing RSPCA Certified chicken has played an important role in supporting the ongoing efforts of Grill’d to raise the bar on sourcing. This is why Grill’d has sourced all their chicken from RSPCA Certified farms for all menu items for almost a decade. But its responsible sourcing doesn’t end there – it’s also sourced free-range eggs since opening and won the RSPCA Good Egg Award in 2011.
The Healthy Fried Chicken Bites are made using hand cut 100% RSPCA Certified chicken tenderloins, and Healthy Fried Chicken Tenders are made from 100% RSPCA Certified tenderloin as well with no filler cuts.
Raising Public Awareness for Higher-Welfare Practices
In 2017, Grill’d strengthened its advocacy for animal welfare by collaborating with the RSPCA to support the End the Battery Cage campaign, which aimed to raise public awareness of the suffering endured by hens confined in battery cages and put an end to battery-cage egg farming. Through this initiative, Grill’d helped raise public awareness and encouraged Australians to make more informed food choices.
Sourcing from RSPCA Certified farms means Grill’d customers can be confident that the farms have been regularly assessed against RSPCA Australia’s higher-welfare standards, and that assessments have been performed through the supply chain as part of a multi-layered certification process. By championing higher-welfare practices and educating the public on key issues, Grill’d continues to be an advocate for improved animal management systems in Australia.
