The Free Ranger sources chicken from free range RSPCA Certified farms in the regional areas of – Mornington and Gippsland, Riverland in South Australia and Southeast Queensland.
These farms take pride in raising their birds to higher animal welfare standards. During the day chickens have access to an attractive outdoor area. There’s shade to protect them from the sun and plenty of space to explore. At night chickens have shelter and protection inside a large barn, with space to move and they can perch, dustbathe and forage. The Free Ranger farmers believe passionately in raising chickens this way, even though it’s not the easiest way.
